The flight to New York was rough, and turbulent. Sean couldn't calm his nerves with whiskey, so he held on to his seat, his palms sweating. Sean was relieved to have landed safely, and rested at the terminal. Julie grabbed him by the arm and said, "Hurry, it's eight-thirty; we have a 9 a. m. meeting at the EPA's office New York with Gutierrez and we're going to be late," Sean and Julie hailed a yellow cab from La Guardia airport. As the cab dropped them off at the office a crowd was gathered, watching as the second plane hit the top of the World Trade Center. Sean drew closer to Julie and they watched for forty minutes, mesmerized at this horrific act of terror. A thundering sound rocked the pavement as a tower collapsed into itself. Sean pulled Julie into the nearest open door. They were inside a delicatessen. Julie held on to Sean tightly this time, as they both watched the black cloud pass through. Darkness and an irritating dust enveloped New York.
